Faridabad/ Alive News: Faridabad city which is called an industrial town has been completely contaminated. One side where the level of pollution in the city is increased in the smoke by dust and the vehicles’ smoke, while water, debris and smoke emanating from the companies are also causing environment .
RTI Activist Varun Sheokand has written to the Director Pollution Control Board, Punchkula. Sheokand in his complained has said that he along with local RWA and nearby residents visited the whole industrial sector-52 of Faridabad and found that none of the industry is following the norms/guidelines of Pollution department. They all are discharging there chemical waste in open without treatment and hence spoiling ground water and whole environment.
He said that pollution department should check the quantity of sludge discharged and check the amount of sludge handed over to the registered firm by Common ETP plant, this will clearly prove that the CETP is not working properly and its just a white elephant. The association of this industrial area in nexus with corrupt officials of Pollution department are consuming the funds collected by the industries to run CETP.
He further said that no one can stand there for a while, not only water the whole air is polluted in that area. No fumes extracting system/scrubber system to purify air is adopted by any of the industries due to which environment got poisonous and it’s in knowledge of the pollution department officials. And its resulting in deadly diseases like cancer, kidney failure, lungs infection etc. The whole data is available of the patients. Even many people has died due to cancer in Jharshetli village situated along this sector.
