MCF decided not to seal industrial units

Faridabad/ Alive News: The Municipal Corporation Faridabad has given some relief to small and medium scale units, situated on industrial plots subdivided in an unauthorised manner, and has decided not to seal them for sometime. Actually, the MC had planned to seal some of these units yesterday.
Joint Commissioner Mahavir Prasad said: “We had planned to seal some of the units operating in Ballabgarh yesterday. But due to some technical problems, the move has been halted temporarily.” He said action would be taken against such units.
Meanwhile, the entrepreneurs have reiterated their demand to regularise such units. Ramneek Prabhakar, general secretary of the Manufacturers’ Association, said there were hundreds of units operating from 53 large-sized plots and they had asked the state government to regularise them. He said delay on part of the authorities concerned had led to confusion between the owners of the industrial units and the district administration. Pritam Singh, an entrepreneur, said it was wrong to seal units employing a large number of people.
KL Gera, a social activist, had filed a PIL seeking action against all industrial and commercial units operating from industrial plots that were subdivided and sold to entrepreneurs in an unauthorised manner. He alleged large-sized industrial plots had been divided into small-sized plots and sold to entrepreneurs without seeking permission from the government. This was done in connivance with local officials, he alleged, adding over 950 units had been set up on these plots in the last two decades.
