Faridabad/ Alive News: Larsen & Toubro (L&T) Faridabad Campus while working in the social interest organised a free cancer awareness & screening camp at Rajeev Nagar, Sec-31, DLF-Industrial area, Faridabad on 9th February, 2017 in association with ROKO Cancer – Delhi.
The camp was inaugurated by chief guests Mrs. & Mr. D. S. Kapoor, Head – Project implementation & administration, L&T-Faridabad along with Mr. A. S. P. Chawla, Chairman, Roko Cancer, Mrs. Sudha Murgai, Director, Roko Cancer, Mrs. Mala Mehta, Mr. R. Sitaraman, Social partner Mr. S. P. Dube, Chairman, Adarsh Samaj Sahyog Samiti, Rajeev Nagar, and Dr. Pushpa, Social worker.
A team of 12 Doctors and paramedical staff along with fully equipped Mobile Van of Cancer Roko undertook screening and other tests i.e. Mammography, Clinical Breast Examination by qualified Physician, Screening for Cervical Cancer (PAP Smear), Oral Cancer and Tobacco Cessation Counseling.
Objective of this screening camp was to provide early screening of Breast Cancer, Cervical Cancer and Oral Cancer to the economically weaker sections of the society.
During the event an interactive audio visual session was arranged along with talk on cancer awareness. During this around 233 people were screened in the camp.
