Faridabad/Alive News: J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, has been conferred the “World Peace Education Promotion Award” at the 20th World Peace Congress. This prestigious award recognizes the university’s outstanding contributions to promoting peace and harmony through education.
Organized by the International Association of Educators for World Peace (IAEWP) in association with Global Peace Foundation (GPF-India), Indian Institute of Ecology and Environment (IIEE) and other prestigious Institutions, the event took place at the India International Centre, New Delhi. Notably, out of 1,400 universities, only five were selected for this honour.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Sushil Kumar Tomar received the award from a distinguished panel, including Lt. Gen. Gurmit Singh, Governor of Uttarakhand, and Dr. Priyaranjan Trivedi, President of IAEWP.
Under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tomar, the University has introduced innovative courses focusing on Communal Harmony and Social Justice, Social Work, Universal Human Values, and Bhagwat Geeta. These initiatives have been seamlessly integrated into the academic curriculum, fostering a culture of peace and harmony among students.
On the receiving the award, Prof. Tomar said that it is a matter of great pride and honour for the University to be recognized with the ‘World Peace Education and Promotion Award’. This achievement reflects the commitment of the University towards fostering a culture of peace and harmony among our students and its social responsibilities.
The ceremony was attended by faculty members of the University including Dr. Sanjeev Goyal, Dr. Renuka Gupta, and Dr. Bhawna Uttam. Divyanshu Pandey, a B.Tech student in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, also represented the University during this momentous occasion.
