JC Bose University celebrated 77th Independence Day with patriotic fervour

Faridabad/Alive News: J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad today celebrated 77th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and gaiety. The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Sushil Kumar Tomar hoisted the Tri-colour in the University premises.

The Vice-Chancellor also took the salute at an impressive march-past presented by the Security Officials, NCC Cadets, and NSS volunteers of the University and addressed the gathering. Earlier, Prof. Tomar paid tributes to the martyrs at the War Heroes Gallery in the University. 

To keep alive the flame of patriotism, a bouquet of cultural programs was also presented. Students showcased their talents through poignant songs, soul-stirring poems, and captivating dance routines, paying tribute to the legacy of our nation. The students from schools namely Government Middle School, Rajpur Kalan and Sarvodaya High School, Ballabgarh were also invited to participate in the program.

In his address, Prof. Tomar congratulated the staff and students on the occasion of Independence Day. Highlighting the importance of the day, Prof. Tomar recalled the contributions of the great national leaders in the freedom struggle and urged that youth should take inspiration from the lives of great freedom fighters. The Vice-Chancellor also urged the students and staff to hoist the national flag at their houses under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and said the tricolour is the symbol of pride and glory of the country.

The Vice-Chancellor took the opportunity to highlight the recent accomplishments of the University, and he fervently appealed for continued contributions towards its progress. Prof. Tomar also provided insights into ongoing infrastructural developments and ambitious future plans that will elevate the University to a pinnacle of excellence in higher education.

The program reached its culmination with a soul-stirring rendition of the National Anthem. The event witnessed a remarkable turnout, graced by Deans, Heads of Departments, officers, faculty members, and students. The program was organized under the overall supervision of Dean Students Welfare Prof. Munish Vashishth, and well coordinated by Director Youth Affairs Prof. Pardeep Dimri, Deputy Deans Dr. Sonia Bansal, Dr. Harish Kumar, Dr. Preeti Sethi and the entire team of DSW office. The function culminated with the distribution of sweets among all the students and staff members.
