JC Bose introduces Institutional Repository and e-Library 2.0

Faridabad/Alive News : Taking another step towards strengthening its e-Resource platforms, JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, today introduced the Institutional Repository Platform and updated version of its e-Library 2.0 under Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Central Library.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sushil Kumar Tomar launched both digital platforms. Dean (Institution) Prof. Sandeep Grover, Dean (Academic Affairs) Prof. Ashutosh Dixit, Dean (FIC) Prof. Komal Kumar Bhatia, Prof. Munish Vashishtha, Registrar Dr. S.K. Garg, Librarian Dr. P.N. Bajpai and Ms Bhawna Goswami, Director, Client Services at Refread Solutions Pvt Ltd were also present on this occasion.

The University’s Institutional Repository is an archive for collecting, preserving, and disseminating digital copies of the intellectual output of the University such as theses and research papers. The updated version of e-Library has been introduced with advanced features and more digital resources which will benefit students, researchers, and faculty members. These digital platforms will save the time and effort of users by aggregating all learning resources and other relevant content.
Appreciating the initiative taken by the University’s Central Library, Vice Chancellor Prof. Tomar also stressed the physical presence of students in the library along with strengthening e-resources. He said that in the present era of Information Technology, the digital library plays an important role in the educational and research process. It allows students, scholars, and faculty members to take advantage of a wider range of materials. Prof. Tomar urged the students to take optimum utilization of e-Resources.

Librarian Dr. P.N. Bajpai apprised that the e-Library Portal of the University has 600,000+ Resources which include 10,000+ Journals including Elsevier’s Science Direct, IEEE, Springer Link, Taylor & Francis, etc.; 20,000+ eBooks including EBSCO, McGraw-Hill, Pearson, etc.; 200,000+ Theses; 80,000+ Video Lectures; 100+ Magazines; 1000+ Expert Talks; 2000+ Literary works in Hindi and English; Headlines from 70+ News Publications and faculty notes.
