Faridabad/Alive News: J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, has offered free incubation support to its student teams who performed well in the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025. The support, worth around Rs. 5 lakh, will be provided at the University’s Technology Business Incubator Centre.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Rajive Kumar, felicitated the winning teams in a special ceremony and announced that the incubation support will include office space, mentorship, legal guidance, and networking opportunities to help students turn their ideas into successful products.
The ceremony was organised by the Institution’s Innovation Council and was attended by Deans, Heads of Departments, Registrar Prof. Ajay Ranga, Prof. Sanjeev Goyal, Dr. Rashmi Agarwal, and other senior faculty members.
Prof. Kumar praised the Smart Education Solution “Smart Classroom & Timetable Scheduler” developed by the team Caffein Overflow, which won the First Prize in the Software Edition of SIH 2025 Grand Finale held at IIT Dhanbad. He directed the team to develop the project as a commercial product and offered to implement it in the University. The solution aims to improve classroom and timetable management by using space more efficiently. Initially, it will be tested in selected departments and later expanded across the University.
The Vice-Chancellor also encouraged another University team, Aura Farmers, for their strong performance on an ISRO problem related to safe autonomous road navigation using mobile phone data. He advised them to remain connected with ISRO and continue working on their innovation.
Prof. Kumar assured full support to talented students and shared plans to collaborate with Gujarat’s Student Startup and Innovation Hub (i-Hub) to strengthen the University’s startup ecosystem.
Team Caffein Overflow, led by Mr. Sanjeevan Kumar and guided by Dr. Payal Gulati, includes Ms. Ishaanvi Reet, Ms. Srishti Rathi, Ms. Aarzoo, Mr. Tushar Bhadana, and Mr. Pramod Kumar. The team won a cash prize of Rs. 1.5 lakh and an industrial internship from AICTE in this national-level competition organised by the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
The Vice-Chancellor said that this achievement reflects the creativity and hard work of the students and faculty and highlights the University’s growing role in innovation and nation-building.
