J.C. Bose University Celebrates National Technology Day

Faridabad/Alive News: J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, in collaboration with the Haryana State Council for Science, Innovation & Technology (HSCSIT), Panchkula, celebrated National Technology Day 2026 with great enthusiasm on the theme “Electric Vehicles & Sustainable Energy.” The event brought together academicians, scientists, industry experts, and students to deliberate on the transformative role of technology in shaping a sustainable future.

The programme commenced with a welcome address and a brief introduction to the significance of National Technology Day by Prof. Rajkumar, Dean, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, who highlighted the importance of technological innovation in addressing contemporary societal and environmental challenges. Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajive Kumar emphasized the need to leverage technology for improving the quality of human life and urged students to apply their technical knowledge towards solving real-world problems, particularly those affecting rural communities and industry. 

A key highlight of the event was the insightful address by Kapil Singhal, Managing Director, B P Refcool, and distinguished alumnus of the University, who spoke on the evolving intersection of refrigeration technologies and electric mobility. Drawing from his professional experience, he demonstrated how innovative thermal management solutions, such as phase change materials, are contributing significantly to improving energy efficiency in electric buses, passenger vehicles, and cold-chain transportation systems.

The session was further enriched by expert talks from eminent speakers including Dr. Sanjay Yadav, Chief Scientist, CSIR–National Physical Laboratory (CSIR-NPL), Prof. Ashish Shrivastava from Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (SVSU), and Dr. Mukhtiyar Singh from Delhi Technological University (DTU), who shared their perspectives on emerging technologies, sustainable energy systems, and future opportunities in electric vehicle research and development.

Prof. Rajesh Ahuja, Chairperson, Department of Electrical Engineering, was also present and extended his support to the successful conduct of the event. The session was coordinated by Dr. Atma Ram and Dr. Abhinav Saxena from the Department of Electrical Engineering, whose efforts ensured the smooth organization of the programme.
