HIAGECON 2025 Held Successfully in Faridabad, Focus on Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery

Faridabad/Alive News: The Haryana Chapter of the Indian Association of Gynaecological Endoscopists (IAGE), in collaboration with the Faridabad Obstetric & Gynaecological Society (FOGS), successfully organised HIAGECON 2025, its annual state conference, in Faridabad. The two-day event saw enthusiastic participation from obstetricians and gynaecologists from across India.

A total of 372 delegates registered for the conference, which featured a well-planned and informative scientific programme. One of the major highlights was the Live Surgery Workshop, where 22 advanced gynaecological laparoscopic surgeries were performed by renowned experts including Dr. Kalyan Barmade, Dr. Shailesh Puntambekar, Dr. Sujal Munshi, Dr. Nisha Kapoor, Dr. Sudha Tandon, Dr. Pandit Palaskar, Dr. Nutan Jain, Dr. Nikita Trehan, Dr. Seema Manuja, Dr. Mohil Patel, Dr. Rohan Krishnakumar, and Dr. Farendra.

The procedures included fibroid removal, hysterectomy, ovarian cyst surgery, prolapse repair, polyp removal, fertility-enhancing surgeries, endometriosis surgery, uterine cancer surgery, and tubal recanalisation. These surgeries were conducted in five parallel operation theatres at Marengo Asia Hospital, Faridabad, and were relayed live with expert moderation. All patients recovered well and were discharged within 48 hours.

The inaugural ceremony was followed by a colourful cultural programme, which included a skit performed by gynaecologists showcasing the benefits of laparoscopic surgery in modern gynaecological care.

Scientific sessions featured interactive discussions by faculty members from Haryana, Delhi NCR, and other states, providing valuable academic and practical knowledge to participants.

The organising committee thanked IAGE President Dr. Kalyan Barmade and IAGE Secretary Dr. Sujal Munshi for giving them the opportunity to host the prestigious event. Faculty members and delegates appreciated the efforts of Organising Chairperson Dr. Nisha Kapoor, Organising Secretaries Dr. Kiran Chandna and Dr. Seema Manuja, along with team members Dr. Indu Taneja, Dr. Kanika Bajaj, Dr. Aparna Aggarwal, Dr. Chanchal Gupta, Dr. Sonal Gupta, Dr. Meenu Kapoor, Dr. Punita Hasija, Dr. Mala Arora, Dr. Meenakshi Ghai, and Dr. Meenal Gupta for ensuring smooth execution of the conference.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Nisha Kapoor, President of the Haryana Chapter of IAGE, said that the main aim of HIAGECON 2025 was to motivate young gynaecologists to learn advanced laparoscopic skills so that more women across India can benefit from minimally invasive surgery.

HIAGECON 2025 concluded successfully, further strengthening Haryana IAGE’s role as an important academic platform in the field of gynaecological endoscopy.
