Fortis Escorts FBD celebrates International Nurses Day

Faridabad: Fortis Escorts Faridabad commemorated the International Nurses Day with an Awards and recognition program to recognize the hard work and dedicated efforts of nurses in serving the ill and working tirelessly in healing them back to health. The event was chaired by Mr. Bhavdeep Singh, CEO, Fortis Healthcare Limited and Col. Harinder Singh Chehal, COO, Fortis Healthcare Limited. Several key doctors from the hospital also participated in the event.

The celebrations commenced with a 4-day celebrations to highlight the theme of the year – Nurses: A force for change …Improving health system resilience. Dedicated to nurses, the section of the healthcare which works round the clock in healing the sick back to health, the first two days were devoted to internal engagement program followed by various fun-filled competitions in painting, poster making and others. More than 250 nurses at Fortis Escorts Faridabad participated in these competitions and activities revealing their talent in fields other than nursing.

Chief of Nursing accompanied by a few nurses visited the orphanage at Baroli to distribute new clothes, books and toys to about 50 orphan children. The team spent time with the children to spread awareness on health and educate them on hand hygiene, sanitation and tips on how best to manage their regular medical problems. A second team of nurses visited nearby village Dig and organized an awareness session to educate rural masses through a skit on hygiene and cleanliness.

To bring the memorable Nurses Day celebrations to an appropriate closure, Fortis Escorts Faridabad had a cultural program as a platform to recognize and award the members of the nursing staff for their tireless dedication to the sick and ill people.
