Faridabad: The final match was played between Manav Rachna Educational Institutions (MREI) and Honda in the university’s courtyard here today. The winner’s trophy was presented to MREI by Chief Guest and legendary cricketer Chetan Chauhan. The Corporate Cricket Challenge packed in loads of excitement over two months with 28 top Corporates wielding the willow at the lush green grounds. With top corporates like Maruti Suzuki, TCS, Indian Oil, NDTV, RBS, Jagran Group, Honda, JCB, Fortis, Adidas, Accenture, Suzuki Motorcycle, Australian High Commission, Sports Scribe, Aaj Tak, IIFLW, Escorts, Knorr-Bremse, NHAI, Supreme Court Advocates Cricket Association, Asian Hospital, Dabur, CLASS, HP, Larsen& Toubro and Prasar Bharti putting their best foot forward, the tournament carried with it the charm of joyful exuberance.
Before beginning of the match, Captain of Honda Car won the toss and elected to Field first. MREI scored 239/8 runs in 20 Overs. For MREI, Mr. Naresh Mehta scored 50 runs in just 22 balls (2 Fours, 6 Sixes), Mr. Gautam made 41 runs in 27 balls (2 Fours, 4 Sixes), Ajay Sharma made 40 runs in 29 balls (5 Fours, 2 Sixes), Kuldeep made 37 runs in 13 balls (1 Four, 5 Sixes) & Hemant 31 runs in 13 balls (2 Four, 3 Sixes) respectively.
For Honda Car Bowling, Mr. Ajay Mishra (3-0-35-2), Praveen (4-0-36-2) Puneet (4-0-53-2) Vikram (4-0-35-1) for his team.
In reply, Honda Car made only 203/10 in 19.4 overs. For Honda Car, Mr. Ajay Mishra made 40 runs in just 16 balls (4 Fours, 3 Sixes), Puneet made 36 runs in 24 balls (2 fours, 3 Sixes), Sawan made 22 runs in 12 balls (2 fours, 2 Sixes), Kapil made 21 runs in 6 balls (2 Four, 2 Sixes), Rishi Raj made 19 runs in 17 balls (2 Four I Six) respectively.

The winner’s trophy was presented to MREI’s winning team by the Chief Guest Sh. Chetan Chauhan, Former Legendary Test Cricketer & Ex – Hon’ble Member of Parliament and Guest of Honour Sh. Vikrant Gupta, Sr. Sports Editor, Aaj Tak & India Today group. The presentation ceremony was presided over by Sh. Chetan Chauhan and Mr. Vikrant Gupta along with Dr. Prashant Bhalla, President-MREI; Dr. Amit Bhalla, Vice President-MREI; Dr. M.M.Kathuria, Trustee M.R among other Directors.
