Faridabad/Alive News: Faridabad Model School, Sector-31 in association with Asian Hospital (AmeriHealth Home Healthcare) organized a Puberty Education & Self Care Workshop for girls of Grade VII- XII. The guest speaker for the session was Dr. Aishwarya Sinha, Gynecologist, Robotic Surgeon and Women Wellness Consultant, Asian Hospital. She was accompanied by Sandeep Ahluwalia, Operations Manager, AmeriHealth Home Healthcare.
The workshop was attended by FMS Academic Director Shashi Bala, school coordinators, teachers, medical incharge and the students. To start with, Dr. Aishwarya gave a presentation on topics associated with puberty, personal hygiene, healthy diet and self-esteem. The session was incredibly interactive and allowed the learners to not only satiate their curiosity but also share their insights into many important topics like body awareness and positive body image, understanding body parts, personal hygiene, being menstrual ready, etc.
The workshop was efficacious in empowering the students with comprehension, confidence, and a constructive outlook on the changes they should expect during Puberty. Dr. Aishwarya also encouraged the students to spread awareness about the topics discussed among other female members in their family.
FMS Academic Director Mrs. Shashi Bala expressed her gratitude and gratification towards the empathetic and educative session planned for the girls. The learners felt better prepared to face the trials of growing up and appreciated this opportunity to listen and learn in a safe and inclusive environment. All in all, the programme was a resounding success and ensured that these young learners are better equipped to navigate the changes and challenges of their age. It was indeed an informative session for the growing up girls.
