Faridabad Model School organised Workshop on Self Defence

Faridabad/Alive News: Faridabad Police organized ‘Workshop on Self Defence’ in the school premises. The session was addressed by Insp. Usha Rani- SHO, Mahila Thana, Faridabad, PSI Hemlata, Mahila Thana, Faridabad alongwith the representatives of the Durga Shakti Rapid Action Force.

The officials interacted with the students and guided them about safety and security related issues like cyber-crime, women safety, self-defence and help line numbers 112, 1091, 1098 and 1930. They informed regarding various safety precautions followed by case specific administrative measures to be taken.

The officials also enlightened the students on the consequences of misuse of various social networking platforms, poor peer relationships, and involvement with the juvenile justice system. The representatives of Durga Shakti Rapid Action Force imparted self defence lessons and demonstrated various techniques like striking, blocking, grappling, and escape maneuvers, to help students remain safe, become more aware of their surroundings and prepare for the unexpected.

The basic objective of the session was to empower girls, develop a sense of independence and self-reliance to help prevent further crimes in the society apart from protecting themselves. The session concluded with the address of FMS Academic Director Shashi Bala who expressed her gratitude towards the police officials. She also reinforced the need for making the students informed citizens, develop respect for law in the youth, promoting life skills education among adolescents, create awareness about cyber-crime and safety of girls. The session was enlightening and very informative.
