Faridabad/ Alive News: The President of Haryana Progressive Schools Association, S.S Gossain has termed the winter holiday as a contrary to the future of children declared by the Director Secondary Education Haryana (DSEH) that all schools (the Govt. schools, Govt. aided schools & Private Schools) of the state to close from 25 Dec to 8 Jan in view of cold weather. He said in inspite of clear weather and many holidays earlier, this decision of the department is playing with the children’s future.
He through the media said that the Director Secondary Education Haryana ordered on 22 December and schools received the notification on 23 December, due to which planned programmes of schools are getting disturbed badly. He said order was issued unwarranted at the eleventh hour when schools were closed for HTET exam on Sunday and Christmas. Schools did not have time to revise their schedule. Moreover, the weather is conducive, as per the media report 22 December was hottest day in last 10 years.
He further said schools and institutions are also responsible to assess the favorable or unfavorable weather conditions for their students. The order is ridiculous even parents expressed their same opinion, he stated. Gusain at last said that Board exams are approaching CBSE practical exams will commence from 15 January. This is most crucial time for the students to prepare for final exams.
