Faridabad/ Alive News: Absolutely, this proverb is truth that “Dog doesn’t yelp without purpose”. If an animal may follow rule of environment in which it lives, then why we can’t? Considering an example of animal, member of the Earth Saviours Foundation certainly appeared at Neelam Chowk NIT, Faridabad who engaged to stick sticker and distributing books to the commuters here on Sunday. Happiness in city’s people was witnessed through this initiative. People passing by the road pasted stickers on their respective vehicles by the foundation members and took pledge not to unnecessarily honk.
Meanwhile, talking to media Ravi Kalra, Founder and President of the foundation said in India unnecessary vehicular honking is a prime reason for noise pollution. The problem is worst at traffic signals where drivers start honking without waiting for signal to turn green or for traffic to move. Drivers don’t show respect to the law that prohibits the use of horn at traffic signals and other silent zones, such as areas near hospitals, schools, religious places and residential areas.
He further said the unwanted sound can affect human health and behavior, causing annoyance, depression, hypertension, stress, hearing loss, memory loss, panic attacks and sleep disturbance.
Kalra said I have been visited about 47 countries, but noise pollution in abroad is a hundred times less than India. People in foreign countries do not honk unnecessary. If anyone honks continually, it means someone in the vehicle is in serious condition and then almost all vehicles going infront of the honking vehicle turn the path empty. Similarly, we will have to adopt the habit
