Faridabad/ Alive News: keeping with its yearly practice, DAVC College organized a two hour long Induction Programme for BA-1st Year students today in the college auditorium. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Mr. Rohit Shukla, IRS, Assistant Commissioner, Income Tax, New Delhi. The stage was conducted by Dr. Savita Bhagat, Dean, Arts Faculty of the college. She emphasized the important of Humanities and Social Sciences in the project of man-making. The students of first year as well as their seniors presented an interested cultural programme which included a couple of dance items and songs. The seniors not only shared their experiences of the college with the newcomers but also gave them valuable suggestions regarding making the best of their stay in the college. A couple of first year students also shared their initial impressions about the college and gave a very positive feedback about the Principal and the faculty of the college as well as about the very good facilities available in the college.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest shared his invaluable experiences gathered over the years and exhorted the students to develop patience, manage their time well, set clear goals for themselves in keeping with their interests and aptitude and work hard to realize their dreams. He also dwelt upon the importance of humanities and social sciences and how the students of humanities have an edge in the Civil Services Examination. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Dr. Satish Ahuja talked about the importance in a person’s life of taking the right decision at the right time without anger and without being unduly emotional. The programme came to an end with a vote of thanks by Dr. Divya Tripathi, Deputy Dean, Arts Faculty.
