DAV School NH-3 organised Cancer Awareness and Screening Programme

Faridabad/Alive News : A Cancer Awareness and Screening Programme for women was successfully organised at DAV Public School, NH-3, NIT Faridabad on 30 June 2025, in collaboration with the Foundation for Community Development and Health Care in India. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from the female staff members and community women, making it a commendable initiative towards women’s health.

The camp commenced with an informative and engaging awareness session conducted by Dr. Palak Dewan (MBBS, MS, FMAS), a senior gynaecologist from Apollo Clinic, Sector 35, Faridabad. Dr. Dewan sensitively addressed critical topics related to breast and cervical cancer, sharing vital information and practical tips on early detection, prevention, and regular screening. Her session proved to be both insightful and empowering, highlighting the need for proactive health care.

Following the orientation, a free screening and consultation session was held, during which more than 50 women availed medical check-ups. The medical tests included Pap Smear, CBC, LFT, KFT, and Blood Sugar, all of which were conducted free of cost.

The overall coordination of the programme was effectively managed by Mr. Aslam, Regional Head of the Foundation for Community Development and Health Care in India, ensuring smooth execution and patient support throughout the day.

Dr. Palak Dewan, with her expertise and compassionate approach, examined each patient thoroughly, leaving a lasting impact on the beneficiaries. The school principal, Ms. Jyoti Dahiya played a key motivational role in making this programme a success. She expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, organising team and participants, and emphasized the importance of health awareness initiatives in educational institutions.
