Faridabad/Alive News: DAV School, Sec 49, Faridabad organised a felicitation ceremony on December 16, 2024 in the school auditorium to welcome back the notable alumnus of the session 2003, IAS Vinay Pratap Singh, who is currently posted as Deputy Commissioner of Chandigarh.
Following the Vedic tradition, the programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp followed by the solemn rendition of Gayatri Mantra and DAV Gaan. The event was then set rolling by evoking the blessings of Lord Ganesha through a captivating Ganesh Vandana presented by the students of Primary wing.
The Principal, Sh. Rajan Gautam, accorded a warm welcome to IAS Vinay Pratap Singh and the esteemed guests – his father and brother, who accompanied him to the alma mater. Vinay Pratap Singh demonstrated extraordinary ingenuity, profound knowledge, and resolute determination, which culminated in the noteworthy accomplishment. He graduated from BITS (Pilani) before appearing for the Civil Service Exam and cracked it in the first attempt.
He addressed the gathering and narrated his journey to the students of classes VI, VII, IX and XI, which highly motivated them. They had an enlightening interactive session with him and their doubts on issues relating to overcoming obstacles and staying motivated were resolved. He gave the effective mantras to the students – face the fear and take the first step, work persistently and do not draw parallels with the peers. He also highlighted the role of teachers and parents in helping the child achieve his goal. It was a delight for the staff and the students to listen to his inspiring address. The programme culminated with the chanting of Shanti Path and National Anthem by everyone.
