Faridabad/Alive News: DAV Public School, Sector 49, Faridabad surrounded by an aura of enthusiasm and expectation. The school also celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas with zest and zeal on the same day. Following the Vedic tradition, the celebrations commenced with the rendition of Gayatri Mantra followed by the formal welcome of the Chief Guest.
Patriotic fervour marked the celebrations and the Chief Guest – retired Brigadier Tarun Madan, and honoured Guest -Anju Bhadana, philanthropist, were graciously welcomed.The well orchestrated programme included patriotic songs and dazzling dance performances.
The newly selected Student Council for the session 2024-25 was sworn in, cheered on by parents who had joined to celebrate the occasion and bless the children. The highlight of the event was the heart touching and spell binding skit ‘Kargil – Ek Balidan ki Gatha’ to pay tribute to the Kargil heroes who fought with exemplary valour for the motherland. The skit touched the chord of everyone’s hearts, and their beautiful recitals made everyone’s eyes well up.
The illustrious Chief Guest, who was also a part of Kargil war, in his speech reiterated the importance of each citizen’s role in making our country free from corruption and social evils. He recalled the contributions made by the great men who sacrificed their lives for the country during the last 78 years.
The Principal, Sh. Rajan Gautam also addressed the august gathering and motivated all the students to grow up as responsible and conscientious citizens of India so that its glory keeps soaring high. The colourful cultural programme concluded with the rendition of Shanti Path, DAV anthem and the tribute to the nation in the form of the National Anthem.
