DAV NH3, holds Baisakhi

Faridabad: Keeping up with the tradition of celebrating all the festivals with great fervour and gaiety, DAV Public school, NH3, NIT Faridabad celebrated a vibrant and exhilarating ‘Baisakhi’ on 13th April’2016, Wednesday. The Celebration took place in the school compound where classes upto VIII standard were assembled.

The School Premises were aptly decorated depicting the harvest festival. The purpose was to make the students aware about the historical background, significance and relevance of Baisakhi. Students, especially the tiny tots were dressed in colourful Punjabi attire.

The programme started by chanting God’s sacred name which was followed by a 2nd class student, Sukanya’s speech. The speech threw a light on the importance of Baisakhi. It was followed by Kindergarten’s performance. The whole school came alive with the brilliant performance given by the tiny tots.

Students of VIII standard also took initiative to enlighten the little ones through speeches, songs, dance and various cultural activities. Unknown facts of Jallian walla Bagh were also told to the students.

Class IV and V choir sang a beautiful Punjabi song “Baisakhi Punjab ki” on the occasion of Baisakhi, which was followed by a thrilling and amazing performance given by VI-VIII standard students. A Punjabi atmosphere was created that took everyone into the world of Punjab.

The programme concluded with the Principal Ms Jyoti Dahiya’s speech. She appreciated the efforts of the students and wished all the students a very happy Baisakhi.
