DAV NH-3 celebrated International Yoga Day

Faridabad/Alive News: ‘You cannot always control what goes on outside you, but you can always control what goes on inside.’ With a firm belief in the adage ‘A sound mind resides in a sound body’, DAV Public school NH-3 streamed on Facebook and YouTube on 21st June 2021 to mark the 7th International Yoga Day with an intent to spread the message of PM Narendra Modi to keep India fit during this pandemic by incorporating yoga in our daily life.

DAV NH-3 aptly plays a role of holistic health coach in the life of its students by promoting mental well-being along with physical fitness. The program was organised by the Physical Education Department of the school under the wise guidance of the Principal with great enthusiasm. Pavani (Grade V) and Shivani (Grade XI), International level athletes were present to lead the celebration. A sneak peak into the history of yoga was given by Ms Shivani.

She delved into sharing some interesting facts about yoga which was followed by performing several asanas, like Vrikshasana, Tadasana, Vajrasana, Bhadrasana, Bhujangasana, makarasana etc. in a medley of formations that added charm to the fitness. The young yogis felt ecstatic to practice yoga in the relaxed environment of their home along with their parents and loved ones.

Although, the celebration was virtual, it was nevertheless exciting because of its novelty. The innumerable benefits of practicing yoga were explained by the faculty simultaneously. The boundless peace of doing the asanas was amply visible right from everyone’s faces.Growing up in a world so competitive, it would have been incomplete to end the session without recharging the body, mind and soul through meditation that included Anulomvilom, Kapalbhati, Sheetali, Bhramri and Dhyan.

In the end .Jyoti Dahiya emphasised the importance of living a healthy life. She said a healthy mind always goes parallel with a healthy body, so one should never cease to practice yoga and meditation in life.
