Faridabad: With a desire, dream and vision to be a champion, the students of D.C. Model Sr. Secondary School participated in the annual sports day being organized in the school’s premises. While Mr. M.L. Gupta – Chairman of Prayas Social Welfare Society as the honourable chief guest of the event. The sports meet was presided over by Mr. Navneet Gumber – President of Rotary Club Faridabad. While the presence of Mr. Vinod Bhiduri – an advocate from the Supreme Court and a member of the school’s management committee increased dignity of the courtyard. Mr. Girraj Singh a proud recipient of Dhyanchand Lifetime achievement Award form Govt. of India and Bheem Award winner by Haryana Government) and Mr. Rohtas Chaudhary – World Champion in Push-ups and a Guiness Book Record Holder as our special guests of honour.
The event began with the slow cycling race in two categories i.e. for classes 3 to 6 and classes 7 to 10. The participants and all the audience present were thrilled to be a part of this extravaganza. To add colours to the games, they had the power packed performances of the students in Haryanvi Dance and a bhangra. The various games being organized included the hurdle race, sack race, 3-legged race, balancing race, frog jump etc.
The main attraction of the day was the musical chair being organized for the students and the parents where we could see the active participation of one and all. The winners of all the events that took place were awarded the medals.
In his address to all the guests and the children existed in the courtyard Mr. Pavan Gupta said
“CHAMPIONS ARE NOT MADE IN THE GYM
CHAMPIONS ARE BORN WITH A DESIRE, A DREAM, A VISION” and it is our responsibility to create thus an environment for our children, so that their physical and mental development can take place.
Overall, it was a day filled with joy and cheers from every nook and corner of the ground.
The team looks forward to having more such activities that rejuvenate the energy level of the students and the staff as it brings out the talents and helps in reducing the stress.
