With this thought in mind,on the blissful morning of 25th January, D.A.V. Public School, Sector 37, celebrated the 75th Republic Day with elan. Republic Day is celebrated every year on 26th January to commemorate the day on which the Constitution of India came into being, replacing the Government of India Act of 1935 and making India a Republic Nation.
The ceremony began with the much-revered Gayatri Mantra followed by the unfurling of the National tri-color by School Principal Ms. Deepti Jagota followed by the National Anthem to pay tribute to the motherland.
The ambience was charged with a spirit of nationalism during the programme that comprised a beautiful poem rendition, a soul-stirring speech by an inspired staff member and a mellifluous patriotic song.
On the auspicious occasion, in her address, the Principal Deepti Jagota dedicated the celebration to the undying human spirit to triumph in the face of adversity and urged the students to adhere to the epithets of the Constitution and keep the spirit of nationalism alive.
She also reminded the students that freedom was not handed out on a platter but was achieved by the sacrifices of the brave sons of Mother India, so, she urged the students not to forget these tremendous sacrifices and serve the nation as true citizens with body, spirit and mind. The event came to a close with the Samapan Geet and Jai Gosh.
