Faridabad/Alive News: To promote safe and responsible use of the internet among students, Faridabad Model School (FMS) organized a Cyber Security Awareness Workshop for the Senior Wing. The workshop was conducted under the Community Policing and Outreach Programme by the Cyber Cell Department of Faridabad Police.
The session was led by Sub Inspector Basant Kumar and Head Constable Joginder, who educated students about the growing importance of cyber security in today’s digital world. The workshop was attended by FMS Academic Director Mrs. Shashi Bala, school coordinators, and students.
During the interactive session, SI Basant Kumar explained key aspects of online safety, including the importance of creating strong passwords, understanding digital footprints, preventing cyberbullying, staying safe while online gaming, following internet etiquette, enabling two-factor authentication, and maintaining privacy settings on digital platforms. He also highlighted the do’s and don’ts of online behavior and urged students to remain vigilant while using social media and other internet services.
Students actively participated in the session by asking questions and learning practical ways to protect themselves from cyber fraud and online threats. The Cyber Cell officials also informed them about the emergency helpline numbers 112 and 1930, encouraging them to report cyber-related crimes without hesitation.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Shashi Bala thanked the Cyber Cell officials for conducting the informative session. She emphasized the need to spread awareness about cybercrime, encourage respect for the law, and inspire students to become responsible and informed digital citizens.
The workshop concluded on a positive note, equipping students with valuable knowledge and practical skills to navigate the digital world safely, responsibly, and confidently.
