Faridabad/ Alive News: A delegation of tourism department from Jharkhand visited at Surajkund Mela grounds to oversee and supervise arrangements of Jharkhand as “Theme State” in 31st Surajkund International Crafts Mela-2017 here on January 8.2017. The delegation in which Mr. Rahul Sharma, IAS, secretary tourism, Govt. of Jharkhand including Mr. Waghmare Prasad Krishna, IAS, Director Tourism Jharkhand inspected the mela sight and held a meeting with the concerning officers of the crafts mela. Meanwhile, Mr. Rajesh Joon, Nodal Officer, Surajkund Mela Authority, Mr. Wilfred D’Souza, PRO, Haryana Tourism Surajkund and Mr. Jagdish Chander, SDE (M) Haryana Tourism Faridabad coordinated their visit on behalf of Haryana Tourism and Surajkund Mela Authority.
Significantly, the craft fair which is held on February 1 to 15 in which, the theme state as Jharkhand and country partner Egypt has been determined this year. It is expected more than 25 countries as well as 15 lakh viewers would participate in the fair this year. While this ratio in the previous year was about 12 lakh people, but this year the viewers would enjoy to the Jharkhand’s tribal culture glimpse. The state Jharkhand is known for its tribal culture in country and the world. Similarly, the partner country along with the theme state has been announced. The historical country Egypt would serve its culture, food, dance and craft in the fair.
