Faridabad/ Alive News: Students and staff of DAV NH-3,NIT celebrated Dussehra in the school premises on Thursday with great enthusiasm and energy. A special assembly was conducted, in which students spoke on the significance of the festival and how it is celebrated in the country.
Cultural programmes were held in the school premises. The little stars of class II performed a dance play (NRTIYA NATIKA) in which they showcased the episode from the tales of Ramayana. Colourful attire worn by the dancers and colourful sticks , arrows and swords carried by them were eye-catching. The little ones were dressed up in their best, like Ram, Lakshman, Sita, Ravan and Durga. They showcased the rituals and traditions . The grand looking effigies of Ravana were prepared & decorated by the students. These were torched signifying the triumph of good over evil. The students imbibed the message – Good always wins over evil.
In her address, the school Principal, Jyoti Dahiya said in our multicultural society we need to instil and enforce the universal values of brotherhood, tolerance, peace, compassion , patriotism and solidarity in our children. She further said a celebration in the form of special assemblies is an effort to sensitize students towards living in harmony in a diverse society. They are taught to learn to use their thinking ability and skills to work for a safe and better world and to live in harmony with their fellow.
At the end the Principal appreciated everyone for presenting a wonderful programme and showered her blessings.
