Faridabad/Alive News: The Internal Complaints Committee (Women’s Cell) of J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, successfully observed “Sexual Harassment Prevention Week” through a series of impactful awareness programmes.
During this week, students were sensitised on key provisions and support mechanisms related to sexual harassment prevention. These included the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013; the Women Helpline; the One Stop Centre for assisting women in distress; and the recently launched SHe-Box a nationwide centralised digital platform by the Ministry of Women and Child Development for registering and monitoring complaints of sexual harassment.
The awareness activities were conducted by members of the Internal Complaints Committee, including Prof. Sandhya Dixit, Dr. Taruna Narula, Ms. Renu Dagar, and Ms. Arti Singh. As part of the observance, the ICC organised a slogan writing competition on relevant themes at the University’s Girls Hostel. The response from female students was highly encouraging. Hosteller Sapna secured the first prize, while Yashika and Muskan won the second and third prizes, respectively.
