40th National Convention on Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering Begins at J.C. Bose University

Faridabad/Alive News: December 3 – The 40th National Convention of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers and a national conference on “IoT and Sensor Embedded IoT: Driving Smart Connectivity” began today at J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad. The two-day event is being hosted by The Institution of Engineers (India), Faridabad Local Centre, in collaboration with the university.

The inaugural session was led by Prof. Girish Shrikisan Mundada, Vice President of IEI. Chief Guest Prof. Rajive Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of J.C. Bose University, encouraged IEI to create micro-credential courses in new and emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Cybersecurity, 5G–6G, Robotics, and Drone Technology.

He said that the Swayam Plus portal has great potential and assured that any coursedeveloped and uploaded by IEI will be immediately adopted by the university. He also promised full support from the university’s faculty, calling the initiative an important step for Skill India, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and the industrial development of Faridabad.

Guest of Honour Prof. Ashutosh Kumar Singh, Director of IIIT Bhopal, delivered the Prof. S.K. Mitra Memorial Lecture. He noted that India is becoming a global leader in IT, but still needs to improve its high-quality research output. He urged teachers to guide students by giving them real-world, problem-solving research topics so that their work becomes more innovative and relevant to industry needs.

Dr. Roger Kumar, Founder-Managing Director of CASE Group, and Er. Narang N. Kishore, Principal Design Architect at Narnix Technolabs, also spoke about the growing role of IoT and smart connectivity.

During the ceremony, the prestigious Life Time Achievement Award was presented to Prof. (Dr.) Tara Singh Kamal, Er. L.K.M. Adhi, and Dr. Roger Kumar. The IEI Young Engineers Award was given to Ms. Swati Kumari from CSIR–National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi.

The programme began with a welcome address by Er. Inderdeep Singh Oberoi, Chairman of IEI Faridabad Local Centre, followed by lamp lighting and the felicitation of guests. The conference souvenir was released, and special invitees were honoured. Prof. Munish Vashishath, Organising Secretary, delivered the vote of thanks. The event was smoothly conducted by Dr. Neetu Gupta and Dr. Sonam Khattar.

After the inauguration, Er. Narang N. Kishore presented the State-of-the-Art Lecture, followed by the Prof. S.K. Mitra Memorial Lecture by Prof. Ashutosh Kumar Singh. The rest of the day included four technical sessions, a poster presentation, and a student project competition.

The second day, December 4, will feature a plenary keynote by Brig. Adarsh Bhardwaj (Retd.), a panel discussion on the future of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, an online technical session, and the valedictory ceremony.
