Faridabad/Alive News: The Community College of Skill Development at J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, organized a vibrant Induction Program today to welcome the new batch of B.Voc and UG/PG Diploma students for the academic session 2025–26. The event brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and academic stalwarts to inspire and orient young learners toward industry-aligned skill development and enhanced employability.
The program was graced by Dharam Rakshit, HR Head of Hero MotoCorp Ltd., attended as the Guest of Honour. The keynote address was delivered by Rama Shankar Pandey, Social Defence Fellow of the Indian Administrative Fellowship at the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, who emphasized inclusive growth and social empowerment. Distinguished guests included Sardar Sukhdev Singh, President of YMCA MOB (Alumni Association), Sh. Mohan Ubale, Lead Sales Training at ŠKODA AUTO Volkswagen India Private Limited, Shri Sudhanshu Padhy, Head Gurukul, Hero MotoCorp Ltd.; Mrs. Raj Nandini, AGM, Capital Goods Sector Skill Council and Prof. Ajay Ranga, Registrar of the university.
The session was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajive Kumar who underscored the importance of skill rather attaining a degree. He stated that after completing a degree, securing a job is not the only option students may opt for postgraduate studies at the University or pursue entrepreneurship. He also highlighted the current lack of residential facilities for students and reaffirmed his commitment to establishing hostel facilities for boys at the earliest.
The programme was also graced by the presence of Prof. Munish Vashisth, Prof. Atul Mishra, Prof. Raj Kumar, Prof. Pradeep Dimri, and Prof. Sanjeev Goyal. Registrar Prof. Ajay Ranga spoke about the acceptability of skillful students not only in the job market but also as self-employed entrepreneurs, reinforcing the college’s mission to foster independence and innovation.
During the session, industry representatives from Maruti Suzuki, Hero MotoCorp, and ŠKODA AUTO shared valuable insights into emerging job roles in automotive, manufacturing, and digital skilling sectors. Students engaged in an interactive discussion on career pathways, internships, and industry-recognized certifications.
The Community College of Skill Development also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). This collaboration is part of the university’s initiative to integrate skill development with academic learning, bridging the gap between education and industry to equip students with skills for the contemporary job market. During the program, gold medallist students of the Community College of Skill Development were also felicitated for their outstanding academic and skill-based achievements.
The Community College of Skill Development, functioning under J.C. Bose University, offers job-oriented B.Voc programs and UG/PG Diplomas in high-demand areas such as Automotive Mechatronics, Manufacturing Technology, Retail Management, Digital Marketing, and Data Analytics. With strong industry partnerships including Maruti Suzuki, Hero MotoCorp, ŠKODA, NSDC, and MSME clusters, the college ensures 100% placement assistance and produces job-ready graduates.
The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Mrs. Poonam Chhabra, Assistant Professor, CCSD, followed by the National Anthem, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the students of CCSD. The programme was coordinated by Mr. Vimlesh Ojha, Assistant Professor, CCSD, along with all faculty members, who collectively contributed to the smooth organization and grand success of the event through their dedicated efforts and active participation.
