J.C. Bose University YRC Club Holds First Aid and CPR Training Camp

Faridabad/Alive News: The Youth Red Cross (YRC) Club of J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, organized a First Aid and CPR Training Camp today under its three-day Sewa Pakhwada Campaign marking World Health Day. The aim was to teach students and staff life-saving skills to deal with emergencies.

The training was conducted by Mr. M.C. Dhiman, a Red Cross Trainer, along with the District Red Cross team. Participants were given practical lessons on CPR, including how to check a person’s response, use the recovery position, give chest compressions at the correct rate, and provide rescue breaths. They also learned about pulse checking, safe rescue methods, and safe blood donation practices with a focus on hygiene and consent.

Mr. Dhiman also shared his experiences of working in disaster relief, showing the importance of first aid in real-life situations. Around 25 YRC volunteers and more than 150 participants attended the camp and received certificates for completing the training.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajive Kumar praised the YRC Club for promoting such valuable skills among the university community. The program was coordinated by Prof. Pradeep Dimri, Dean of Student Welfare, with the support of Dr. Navish Kataria (YRC Program Coordinator), Dr. Rahul Arya (YRC Counsellor), and Ms. Ashima Sharma (YRC Counsellor).

This camp not only spread awareness about health and safety but also prepared participants to handle emergencies with confidence and a sense of service.
