Faridabad/Alive News: In a remarkable initiative to bridge classroom learning with real-world exposure, students of Class XII Science and Psychology were taken on a one-day internship visit to Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University, Faridabad on 22nd April 2025. The program ran during school hours, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, offering students a deep dive into the fields of medicine, hospital management, and mental health awareness.
Organized under the umbrella of career exploration and experiential learning, the visit focused on the School of Medicine. Students toured key areas of the MBBS College, including the dissection lab, blood bank, central laboratory, and the Museum of Medicine. The museum showcased real brain structures and detailed parts of the brain, offering a fascinating look into the complexity of the human nervous system. Students were also exposed to original preserved human bodies in the dissection lab, where they could observe actual anatomical structures, enhancing their understanding of human biology beyond textbooks.
While Non-Medical stream students explored the technical and operational side of hospital infrastructure—such as hospital management, biomedical IT systems, and the use of modern medical machines—Psychology students attended a special session on Mental Health, conducted by Dr. T.K. Saha, Professor and Head, Department of Biochemistry.
The session was marked by Dr. Saha’s enthusiastic and engaging approach, which deeply resonated with the students. It not only covered the theoretical framework of mental health but also included discussions on real-life case studies, stress management techniques, therapeutic approaches, and the role of early intervention. Students were encouraged to reflect on the importance of emotional resilience and were given practical insights into how psychological support systems function within a hospital setting. The session served as a meaningful platform to raise awareness about the stigma surrounding mental health and emphasized the value of empathy and understanding in care giving professions.
The visit concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, acknowledging the active engagement and enthusiasm of all participants.
This initiative not only expanded academic horizons but also helped students connect their classroom learning with professional opportunities. It was a step toward career readiness, informed decision-making, and a better understanding of life beyond school walls.
