Faridabad/Alive News: Vishwa Prakash Mission (VPM), a Charitable Trust based in Faridabad, has awarded scholarships to 10 deserving students of J.C. Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad. This initiative is part of a joint effort between VPM and the university to provide financial assistance to deserving and underprivileged students for their higher education.
Vishwa Prakash Mission, headed by Rakesh Sethi, a retired Executive Director of Union Bank, is dedicated to offering financial support to meritorious students. This year, 10 students from the university, enrolled in the current academic session, have been selected to receive scholarships of up to 50,000 Rs per annum per student. The total outlay for this initiative amounts to 18.5 lakh, covering their degree courses. To date, 89 deserving B.Tech students from the university have benefited from financial assistance totaling over Rs. 75 lakh through this scholarship program.
The scholarship letters were presented during a special function held at the university, attended by Vice Chancellor Prof. Sushil Kumar Tomar, Chairman of the Trust Mr. Rakesh Sethi, CEO of Oxyzo Finance Ms. Ruchi Kalra, Dean of Student Welfare Prof. Pradeep Dimri, Dr. Harish Kumar, and Trustees of VPM Ms. Sunanda Gupta and Mr. Ajay Gupta, along with faculty and officials of the university. The event was also attended by 55 students, including 4 from IIT Delhi, 3 from NIT Kurukshetra, and 3 MBBS students from various institutions.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Sushil Kumar Tomar commended the efforts of Vishwa Prakash Mission in supporting meritorious students through scholarships and expressed gratitude to Mr. Rakesh Sethi, Chairman of the Trust. He emphasized that providing financial support to meritorious and needy students is a noble and exemplary task that everyone should emulate.
Rakesh Sethi mentioned that out of 39 applicants, 10 students were selected for the scholarships based on their academic records, personal interviews, and economic status. He also highlighted that since its establishment in 2016, VPM has disbursed approximately3.20 crore in scholarships to 587 students pursuing technical and professional courses such as B.Tech, CA, CS, and MBBS. So far, 188 B.Tech and 105 MBBS students have received financial assistance through this initiative.
The mission of VPM is to provide financial support to deserving and underprivileged students to ensure their participation in nation-building. During the function, students who have benefited from the VPM Scholarship were felicitated for their outstanding academic achievements and successful placements. The students expressed their gratitude towards VPM and shared their experiences, highlighting how the scholarship had made their education possible.
