Faridabad/Alive News: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal today marked the conclusion of the Swachhta Seva Pakhwada on the eve of Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday in Faridabad. The Seva Pakhwada, initiated on September 17th, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, was an endeavor to reinforce the importance of cleanliness and sanitation.
Addressing the gathering at the closing ceremony of this state-level Swachhta Hi Seva Pakhwada in Faridabad, the Chief Minister highlighted the significance of collective responsibility towards cleanliness. He said that cleanliness should not be solely the responsibility of sanitation workers but must evolve into a people’s campaign.
While respecting the sanitation workers, he appealed to the people that instead of leaving the work of cleanliness to the sanitation workers, it will have to be a people’s campaign.We will have to pledge to run a collective campaign for the cleanliness of our residence, premises, as well as our streets, localities, and villages.” said Chief Minister.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister commended the active participation of citizens throughout the Swachhta Pakhwada. As part of the initiative, residents across gram panchayats, cities, towns, and wards came together for an hour of dedicated cleaning from 10 am to 11 am.
Reflecting on the importance of cleanliness in daily life, Chief Minister stated, “We have to make cleanliness a part of our life, behaviour, and daily routine.” He drew parallels between cleaning one’s own premises and the larger goal of a clean and hygienic nation, urging citizens to consider the entire country as their home.
“Whether the country will become clean just by cleaning one’s own premises? We have to consider the country as our home,” he stressed. We all will have to participate in this social work together and not just depend on the government system, but we all will have to play our part together.The Chief Minister also emphasized the importance of cleanliness of mind and intellect within one’s own body and called for instilling a sense of cleanliness among children.
